How did we get here?

Located on Broadview Road in Parma, Rocky’s Pizzeria and Restaurant has been the go-to place in this neighborhood for old-school Italian comfort foods and rockin’ pizza for over 30 years.

For the past 15 years, it’s been run by cousins Larry Medvin and Fred Antonucci.

Medvin had worked at Rocky’s under the original management and knew how things should be run. Antonucci was looking for something new to occupy his time as his retirement neared. While Medvin manned the grill at a family gathering, the two got to talking about going into business together.

Taking stock of his family’s Italian specialties, Medvin said he asked himself, “Why can’t anyone in this household make money off this food?”

Now, those traditional family recipes, including his grandmother’s red sauce, eggplant parmigiana, lasagna, and meatballs, keep Rocky’s customers coming back for more.

“You take care of people, they take care of you,” Medvin said.

This cozy eatery is anything but flashy. It is a bit worn, but nice and clean, and the friendly service will make you feel right at home. There’s a sign hanging on the back of the restaurant that says (in Italian), “Come in as friends, leave as family,” and Medvin and Antonucci mean it. Even the regulars are friendly, making a meal here feel almost like a community gathering.
